FAQ
Why are the corners transparent?
The tool exports PNG, which supports an alpha channel. Everything outside the circle is fully transparent, so the image sits cleanly on any background colour or pattern.
What size should a round profile picture be?
Most platforms display avatars at 128–400 px but accept larger uploads. 512 × 512 is a safe default; use 1024 for high-DPI screens or print.
Can I crop a circle from a non-square photo?
Yes. The crop always takes a square region; drag to choose which part of a landscape or portrait photo falls inside the circle, and zoom in to tighten the framing.
Does the border count toward the image size?
Yes. The border ring is drawn inside the output canvas, so a 512 px export with a border is still exactly 512 × 512.
